they said when you can't stop overthinking, write.
As a kid, some of my favorite book series were Dear Dumb Diary, Diary of a Wimpy Kid, & Dork Diaries. They were meant to be a written diary containing the daily occurrences and thought processes of teens trying to figure out adolescence. And I ate that upppppp.
I am currently on a journey to reconnect with my authentic self, part of that being a connection with Little Rosy’s desires and wonder. So, this is going to be my effort at showing up, writing, and expressing myself in the most authentic way I know how.
As a kid I always dreamed of being a writer, living in a city taking the train to work, and being a literary nerd.
When someone has asked me what endeavor I would like to gain fame for, I’ve always said writing or something nerdy. I have always loved reading, school, learning, and being in my own little world.
Moving into adulthood and the real world I have often found myself in conflict with these true parts of myself and expectations placed on me by others or outside forces. The recognition that everyone does not function in the same way I do has been jarring and honestly quite painful. Finding a community that I feel safe and comfortable in has been and continues to be something that I have to be very intentional about.
all of this said, i am currently on a journey to reconnect with myself and I have a lot of thoughts that I am not always the best at verbalizing (i swear I’m working on this). Coming across substack and discovering the small world on this site has been a gift from the universe that I am ecstatic about.
Im not sure what form of expression is going to work best for me. but i am excited to get on here and just START. Learning and growth don’t come without risk and effort and this is me trying. (So please excuse this hastily written, grammatically incorrect, typo-ridden introduction of a post.)
Excited to see what this journey is going to hold and excited to be in conversation with others through written words. If no subs come I am simply happy to be posting and writing to my future self.
